I found the practical examples so helpful.”

“Brilliant sessions that have spoken to exactly where I am at – really helpful, affirming and inspiring.”

“Engaging stories, enthusiastic speakers, obviously vastly experienced.”

“Grateful for time to reflect. Encouraged to change my mind-set at work.”

On 2 September, over 30 leaders from churches across Dublin gathered for our annual Leading for Life training day. Eoghan Heaslip of Saint Catherine’s Church started off with a session on leading healthily from the example of Jesus, followed by Amanda O’Shea from Alpha Ireland on how to practically inspire and motivate volunteers. In the afternoon we heard about examples of local mission in Dublin from Belinda Briggs of Urban Junction/Ignite Network and Ross & Lucy Hill from 24-7 Prayer.

“One of the foundational principles of healthy leadership that Jesus calls us to is rest.” Eoghan Heaslip

“We need all types of people in the church to reach all the types of people in our communities.” Belinda Briggs

The day finished with opportunities to reflect on what we had learned, share and discuss with others, and time to pray for each other, for Dublin, and for the island of Ireland.

“Hearing things from a different perspective was most important for me.”

“It was helpful to hear stories of hope and also the reality of the ‘longhaul’.”

“I really appreciated time to network with others who are leading ministries”

Leading for Life is more than a one-day event. We are currently holding follow up coaching sessions with several leaders who attended.
